One of our leaders in the Free Methodist Church, Steve Fitch, began Eden Reforestation Projects a number of years ago. It has blossomed. It's leader has had a vision big enough for the whole world. Now, people from the secular global community and the Christian global community are growing increasingly interested in what Eden is doing. Just yesterday an agency based in South Africa that helps direct reforestation micro industry commented that ERP is doing more for reforestation than any other organization around the world. A Belgian group was surprised that 10cents plants a tree while their organization takes more than $7.00 per tree. A London based group is trying to connect as well.
The bottom line- many cannot figure out the motivation, thrift or extent of the effort so dependent upon volunteers. The answer= Christ + devoted followers of Christ. The end result= trees + animals + jobs + healthy communities + churches. Congratulations Steve! We encourage others to get involved. Haiti is next for ERP. They need it.
The bottom line is the unlimited potential of what might happen if the whole church was that impassioned about the lost, losing and languishing world.
