As I write this, our son Mitch is having a critical test to see whether or not he qualifies to have a life saving marrow transplant. He has been sick for more than 15 months now- mostly in hospitals. He has had more chemo than anyone should have. Sickness has been his constant companion. Loneliness has visited him many times. And through it all, he waits and worships. Those seem to be what faith filled people do. We wait for the Lord and we worship while we wait. It seems like every opportunity to get updates and news on his progress has been on the down-side of what we are hoping for. Nevertheless, we continue to wait for God’s answer which is always our greatest promise.
This brings me to the point. We will always be active in the word and prayer and obedience. But, we will always wait. We will wait for promises to be fulfilled, heaven, the salvation of our friends, the pain to go away, the fruit of our labors. Waiting is what we do. But, it is never to be passive waiting. Active waiting is filled with worshiping the one who WILL bring the results. So, we worship Him with great vigor.
